Started competitive swimming in Illinois at age 7 before moving to Middletown and joining Red Bank YMCA swim team and Middletown Swim and Tennis club at 12 along with my 3 brothers. Was named team captain in 1985 my senior year and helped coach the younger swimmers which was the beginning of my coaching career. Continued swimming in college for Rider University as well as lifeguarding in Ocean Grove and Asbury Park.
Joined the Red Bank coaching staff in 1991 while beginning my career in brokerage services. Prior to joining the GMNY coaching staff in 2022 I was the head age group coach at Ridgewood YMCA for 12 years.
Swimming didn’t become an integral part of my until I was 9. I joined the Wycko Sharks and a few years later when I transferred to the Ridgewood Y team, was reunited with Coach Markus who my family has known for many years. As a high school freshman, I swam for Immaculate Heart Academy in Bergen County as was part of their NJ State Championship squad. My family then moved to Monmouth County; I a/end and swim at Red Bank Catholic and the GMNY (soon to be the Jersey Shore Y) team. I lifeguard and love to teach stroke technique. IM is one of my favorite events because I enjoy all strokes. My younger sister, London, is also a swimmer and my mom was also a competitive swimmer, so I suppose swimming runs in the family! I’m looking forward to knowing and swimming with you all at Hazlet this summer
I started my swim career as a member of the Middletown pool club summer team, and went on to swim 11 years for Greater Monmouth YMCA. I also swam 4 years for St. John Vianney High School’s varsity team. I recently graduated from SJV and will attend the University of Scranton in the Fall.
I began swimming at the age of 8 with my hometown team, the Hazlet Hammerheads. Since then, I have continued to train with the YMCA of the Jersey Shore swim team while also being a part of the Hazlet Hammerheads each summer. I also swim for Christian Brothers Academy, one of the best high school swim teams in New Jersey, and I will be entering my senior year. While my strongest events are distance freestyle, I have experience competing in all four strokes. I look forward to coaching and swimming with the team this summer.
I started swimming at the Red Bank YMCA when I was seven years old, and swimming has been such an important part of my life ever since. The friendships and memories that come with being part of a team make swimming mean even more to me. I also swim for Monmouth Regional High School and I will be a junior this September. I’m excited for a great summer swim season and look forward to supporting and encouraging the younger swimmers, just like older teammates did for me when I first started.
Swimming has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old, when I started swimming for the Red Bank YMCA. Ever since then, I have loved the sport and all the experiences it has given me. I am going into my junior year of high school and swim freestyle and backstroke.
One of my favorite things about swimming is that I get to share it with my two sisters. Swimming has helped me make friends, stay active, and learn the value of hard work.
As I continue swimming, I hope to help younger kids learn how to swim, build confidence in the water, and enjoy the sport as much as I do. I’m looking forward to this summer!
Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. When I moved to Middletown, our new house had a pool so my mom enrolled me in swim lessons at the Red Bank YMCA. I was then told by my instructor to try out for the competitive swim team there. I haven't stopped since. I will be starting my Junior year at Middletown High School South in the fall. I have been swimming for the team for the past two years and will continue to do so the rest of my high school career. I can't wait to be helping out this summer!
I started swimming at RBY when I was 6 months old and never stopped. Now I am on the Jersey Shore National Swim Team. I also swim for my high school, Red Bank Catholic, where I will be a Junior in the Fall. My family joined the Hazlet Swim Club 5 years ago so I could swim in the summer so I am a Hammerhead too! My favorite stroke is freestyle, but I also swim backstroke as one of my main events. I am looking forward to helping and swimming with everyone this summer.
I started swimming when I was 6 years old on the Hazlet summer team. I had done swimming lessons there and little me finally got the confidence to join the team. I loved the swim team so much that I decided to join a club team. I joined Red Bank YMCA swim team which is now Jersey Shore YMCA swim team. I was on that team up until the end of the winter swim season this year. I am currently trying out a new team called Monmouth Barracudas. I’ve know the people on this Hazlet summer team for years and I’ve been able to convince some of my club team friends to join Hazlet summer team too . I love teaching people to do the sport I love so much. This summer, I will also be working as a lifeguard at this pool club. This team means so much to me, and I absolutely love coaching and helping Markus. I met Markus on the JSY team, and he helped me get through many challenging practices and meets. We are incredibly lucky to have him as our coach.
I am Coach Aidan, I have been on the Hazlet hammerheads since i was 7 years old and it has been an amazing team ever since. The practices are great for new swimmers trying to improve, and meets are purely for fun. I swim year round at the Monmouth Barracudas located in Neptune NJ. This team here in Hazlet started my love for swimming and i hope it does the same for the rest of this team. The Hazlet Hammerheads created my love for swimming, the team is great and i cannot wait to coach this season!
